Allen Tony01/07/2008Ekaterini P MV was a Greek Coaster Motor Vessel of 963 tons built in 1958 by James Lamont & Company, Greenock, Yard No 393 for Associated Humber Lines, Hull as the DARLINGTON MV. She was powered by a Diesel 4SA M7cy 1880bhp giving 12½knots. In 1971 she was purchased by Sky Enterprises, Cyprus and renamed GULF SKY. In 1977 she was purchased by Mehr Shipping, Cyprus and renamed ABADAN. Later tha t year she was renamed PETROS P.

In 1978 she was purchased by Evia Shipping Co, Chalkis, Greece and renamed EKATERINI MV. She developed list after cargo shifted on 20the April 1980 when on passage from Rouen for Lattakia & taken to Brest where she was laid up & subsequently vandalised. She was scuttled by French Navy off Penmarc´h on the 26th January 1982.
