On January 2nd, 1919, the Canadian wooden schooner MARGERY AUSTIN, on voyage from Alma, N.B. to St. John's, N.B. with a cargo of spruce deals, was lost after running aground outside Apple River. She was a total loss. Cargo accounted for $2300 of loss.
