Claes Johnny21/10/20088/8 1935: Delivered to Ångfartygs AB Tirfing, Göteborg for AB Svenska Orientlinjen, Göteborg, Sweden. 1938: When in Haifa the German steamer RELIANCE run into VINGALAND, which only had minor damage. Nov. 1940: Departured Halifax for Glasgow. 8/11 1940: Hit by two bombs from a German airplane, and the ship was in fire. Ship abandoned. 6 of her crew was killed. 9/11 1940: The burning wreck was sunk by the Italian submarine MARCONI
