Ho visto la sua scheda sulla nave Amerique della compagnia Fraissinet, nel sito www.wrecksite.eu.

Lavoro alla Soprintendenza del Mare della Regione Siciliana. Studiamo i relitti moderni delle nostre acque.

Le mando delle immagini della nave Amerique al villaggio di Torre Faro - Stretto di Messina, quando affondò, nel 1904. Dovrebbe essere la stessa nave. Spero che lei possa trovare altre immagini della nave. Mi farebbe piacere averle.

Allen Tony24/03/2008Amerique SS was a French Passeger Ship of 2,036 tons built in 1879 by A McMillan & Son Dumbarton for Cie Marseillaise de Nav a Vapeur (Fraissinet et Cie). On the 24th March 1904 she was sunk after a collision with SOLFERINO near Faro Point in Straits of Messina when on passage from Marseille for Piraeus.
