Allen Tony04/01/2008Winnipeg II SS was a British Cargo Steamer of 9,807 tons built in 1918. She was built as the PAIMPOL and changed her name in 1939 to WINNIPEG. Her name was again changed in 1941 to WINNIPEG II.

On the 22nd October 1942 when on route from LIVERPOOL for ST JOHN (N.B.) carrying a general cargo of about 3,000 tons she was torpedoed by German submarine U-443 and sunk. 192 crew saved.
