  History

Lettens Jan28/01/2011On the night of 21st December 1906, 24 miles SW from Lundy, Capt. Jones asked for the wells to be sounded. It was found the vessel was steering hard and upon examination the fore cabin was half full of water.

The pumps were put to work but the water gained. Bound round the Land with a coal cargo, they had to abandon ship and were picked up next day by a steamer bound to one of the Welsh ports.
