Allen Tony13/10/2007Doric Star SS was a Refrigerated/ Cargo Liner of the Blue Star LIne and of 6,347 tons. On the 2nd December 1939 she was struck by gunfire from the German Pocket Battle Ship "Admiral Graf Spee" and sunk south of St Helena. She was on a voyage from Auckland, Sydney, NSW and Table Bay for the United Kingdom carrying a general cargo of 8,000 tons, including meat, dairy produce, cald skins and casein.
