Racey Carl12/12/2010SS SAXON, O.N.110006, 495 g.t. coaster, 163.2ft x 26ft,single screw. Built 1898 by W. Harkess & Son, Middlesbrough (Yard No.143) for E. Hawthorn, London. In 1901 sold to West of England SS Co (Hannan, Bennett& Co), Fowey. In 1914 sold to T. W. Smyth, London. In August 1914 seized by Germans at Hamburg and requisitioned by Imperial German Navy in May 1916 foruse as net gate vessel. In September 1918became a case oil transport.

In December 1918 returned to owners. In 1919 sold to Llewellyn Shipping Co (W. B. Thomas & Co, Cardiff), London. In 1925 owned by the Mills & Thomas Shipping Co. London. In 1925 sold to Koniordos Bros, Salonica, Greece renamed GEORGE, in 1927 renamed GEORGIOS KONIORDOS, same owner. In 1940 sold to C.N. Vernicos, Piraeus, renamed VIVI. On 9th Nov.1940 s unk by air attack in Gulf of Patras.
