Allen Tony09/10/2007Jacyra was a Brazilian cargo sailing ship of 90 tons. Jacyra was stopped by gun-fire by U-507 at 01.30h (local time) on August 19th 1942 and sunk by four explosive-charges at 04h (local time) after the crew had been forced to abandon the vessel in a small life-boat; position 14.30S - 38.40W (Grid FQ 1396). All the crew were saved.
