Built at Amsterdam and in service for the VOC from 1746 till 1753; 850 tons;

Bredenhof, with a cargo of 14 chests silver coins, 29 chests of silver ingots and 1 chest with 5.000 golden ducates, was lost on June 6th, 1753, on a reef 13 miles off Mozambique.

Capt. Nielsen threw the silver overboard to prevent plundering. The gold was saved. The wreck was discovered and the cargo of silver was salvaged in 1986.
