Racey Carl02/11/2009Built for Moss Line Ltd. Liverpool. (James Moss & Co.); Yard No 166; Launch Date 23/10/1919; In 1934 ownership change toMoss Hutchison Line Ltd, Liverpool; Later in 1934 renamed JUNO by new owners Finska Angfartygs A/B, Helsingfors, Finnland; Mined; 6 lives lost.

On the 30th October 1939 the Finnish steamer JUNO was on passage from London to Viipuri with a general cargo consisting of tin ingots, bronze tubes, tin foil, hides, aeroplane parts, electric motors, welding equipment, synthetic resin, cork disks, sand paper & pen nibs. She was lost with all hands, as a result detonating enemy mine. A few days later the 1,341ton Norwegian steamer SIG sank after an explosion, in the same area, and on the same day the Danish motor vessel CANADA was mined and sunk north Spurn Point.
