Allen Tony23/03/2009The Irish Channel cargo steamship Ardmore SS, Capt. T. Ford, left Cork for Fishguard on November llth, 1940. Nothing more was heard of the ship or her crew of 18 until the body of the captain was washed up some days later. The wreck was found in 1988 and lies 2.8 miles off Great Saltee Island, Co. Wexford.
