Lettens Jan13/03/2011SS Italia, built by Cie. Française de Navigation et de Construction Naval, Nantes in 1904 and operated at the time of her loss by French Navy, was a French armed boarding steamer of 1305 tons.

On May 30th, 1917, Italia was sunk by the Austrian submarine K.U.K. U-4 (Rudolf Singule), 46 miles southeast from Santa Maria de Leuca.
