Lettens Jan12/11/2009Built in 1914 by J. & K. Smit, Kinderdijk, Witte Zee measured 45x8.75 m and was equipped with a steam engine fromJ. & K. Smit with 1.000 i.h.p. In 1940 requisitioned by Dutch Navy, and transfered to the UK as the BV 5. On 12th November, she ran aground off Overton Mere and was a total loss. The crew was saved.

Allen Tony23/02/2012SS Witte Zee was a Dutch tug that was wrecked 0.5nm below Porth Eymon Point on the 12th November 1940 when on route from Penzance for Lamlash.
