About Owners

Ybarra & Co., Sevilla

Created by José Maria de Ybarra (Seville) and Gutiérrez de Caviedes (Bilbao) to develop the traffic between the two provinces. Took its present name in 1885, and began to give his ship's names of capes (Cabo). Strong in cabotage, could not be maintained permanently in the Atlantiolines except south. After the end of the transatlantic passenger traffic, was a pioneer in cruises to Antarctica, but did not quickly adapted to container traffic. Today is only a trade mark of the German company that bought it.
