Allen Tony06/02/2009Norna SS was a Swedish cargo steamer of 1022 tons and built in 1914 by Akers, Oslo for A/S Gerona (K.Andersen), Fredrikstad as the GERONA SS. In 1931 she wa renamed NORNA SS when purchased by Jensen & Sons, Sweden. On the 13th February 1940 when on route from SAVONA 23rd January 1940 for STOCKHOLM carrying a cargo of salt she was torpedoed by Germaqn submarine U-53 and sunk. 18 crew lost.
