Allen Tony08/05/2008Highland Brigade was a 5,669grt, defensively-armed British Passenger/Cargo Ship of 5,669 tons built in 1901 by Wm Beardmore & Company Govan for the Nelson Line (Liverpool) Ltd, Liverpool. She was powered by a triple expansion 3 cyl 653nhp steam engine built by the shipbuilder. On the 7th April 1918 when 6 miles S by E from St Catherine´s, English Channel she was torpedoed without warning and s unk by submarine German submarine UC-71 when on route from London for Buenos Aires.
