  History

Racey Carl04/11/2009On November 14 1939, while loaded with esparto grass and on passage from Sfax to Aberdeen, the GEORGIOS struck the wreck of the Danish steamer CANADA off Withernsea, and she stuck fast, with 20ft of her bow over the wreck. Amazingly, there were no casualties; 22 crew were taken off and landed at Grimsby by the Humber lifeboat. Attempts to refloat the GEORGIOS failed, and she now lies in 13m of wat er, just outside the CANADA wreck
