Allen Tony19/03/2008Erik Boye SS was a Canadian Cargo Steamer of 2,238 tons built in 1924 and owned by Nakskov Skibsværft A/S, Nakskov and owned by Canadian National Steamships Ltd, Montreal. She was built as the Danish, Erik Boye SS for A/S D/S Vendila (Svendsen & Christensen), Copenhagen. In May 1940 taken over by Canadian Government at Halifax. On the 15th June 1940 when on route from QUEBEC for SHARPNESS in C onvoy HX-47 with a cargo of 3568 tons of wheat she was torpedoed by German submarine U-38, off Land´s End, Cornwall and sunk.
