  History

Kevsussex07/06/2009On Tuesday 11 th June 1940 everyone in Seaford, East Sussex would have heard a huge explosion when a potato boat, the British registered steamer, St Ronaig, struck a mine and was sunk. Of the eight crew, four were rescued but two were killed and two posted as being missing.  For many years the wreck fouled the nets of fishing vessels so in July 1950 HMS Flatholm (captained by Lt Cdr Paterson) blew it up.
