Lettens Jan29/03/2011Mary Orr, built by Charles Connell & Co., Scotstoun in 1868 and owned at the time of her loss by Marwood & Co., Glasgow, was a British sailing vessel of 91 tons.

On September 10th, 1917, Mary Orr, on a voyage from Runcorn to Dieppe with a cargo of coal, was sunk by the German submarine UC-51 (Hans Galster), 8 miles NxE of Pendeen lighthouse.

The crew was towed by the submarine to join the other lifeboat from Water Lily.
