Help with the charts
  • How to move the displayed area of a chart ?
    • Move slowly
      To move a chart, hold the left mouse button down and move the mouse.

    • Move fast


      On most charts, there is a smaller version of the chart at the top left. Just click on the part you want to see. The chart will be moved and centered to that position.

  • wreck and hydrographic report info
    • Click on a wreck's name to see a page containing the wreck's details.
      Click on the ® letter next to the name to see the hydrographic report (if it exists). ! NEW

      Note 1.: the popup to show the wreck/report details can be disabled. This improves the speed of showing data and there is no need to change your popup-killer for this site. If you wish to disable the popup, you can, by unmarking the box in the DISPLAY menu (see below) ! NEW
      Note 2.: The ® letter next to the wreck's name can be hidden by unmarking the box in the DISPAY menu (see below) ! NEW

  • How to change from chart ?
    • Using the parent button


      Nearly all charts have a 'parent chart'. This is the chart that contains the actual chart. Click on the parent button to go to that chart. 
    • Clicking on the chart borders


      When a chart has an area in common with the chart you are viewing, its borders are being displayed on the chart. Click on the border to navigate to that chart.
    • Selecting a chart from the adjacent chart dropdown.


      When a chart has an area in common with the chart you are viewing, the page usually displays a dropdown box in the menu. Select a chart from there. 
    • Using the rosace (outdated)

      When loading a chart, the wrecksite automatically detects if there are charts adjacent to the actual chart. If there are, the wrecksite will highlight them in the rosace.
    • Using the boundary arrows (outdated)


      The rosace is repeated around the chart boundaries with the same type of arrows as the rosace. Click on the arrow to change to a chart in the indicated direction.

  • How to work with marks ?
    • Insert a mark

      • 1. click the button until it shows like . The chart is now in "add mark mode" and will display a small (empty) form.
      • 2. move the mouse to the point that you want to mark and click the mouse. The form will be filled with that position.
      • 3. change the name to a name that you want.
      • 4. click one of the save buttons.
      • 5. You can click the  button, to return to normal (move chart) mode.
    • Edit/move a mark

      • 1. click on the name of the mark on a chart. The chart is now in "edit mark mode" and will display a small form with the data of the mark.
      • 2. change the name or description or position in the form and click save. If you have changed the DDMM.MMM position, click the corresponfing save button. If you have changed the DD.DDDD position, click the corresponfing save button.
      • 3. You may also change the position by clicking anywhere on the chart and save the change.
      • 4. After saving, the chart returns to normal (move) mode.
    • Delete a mark

      • 1. click on the name of the mark on a chart. The chart is now in "edit mark mode" and will display a small form with the data of the mark.
      • 2. click the delete button of the form.
    • Set your Homeport

      • To set your home port, just proceed like you would enter a mark, give it a name etc.. but before saving, mark the checkbox "set as home port" and then save.
      • Once your homeport is set, an additional box with bearing and distance will appear, measuring those parameters from your home port to the position of your mouse.
  • How to measure distance and bearing on a chart ?
    • 1. click the button until it shows like . The chart is now in "measure" mode
    • 2. move the mouse to the point where you want to start measuring.
    • 3. click the left button of the mouse down and keep it down and move the mouse to start measuring.
      The chart should show something like this:



    • 4. You can click the again or the   button to return to normal (move chart) mode.
  • How to maximize the chart ?

    Use the F11 button on your keyboard to maximize the screen.
    Depress the F11 button again to return the screen to normal mode
